Peace & Justice Commission
A Peace & Social Justice Committee initiates
and directs the parish “action on behalf of
justice” in accord with the Bishops’ Synod of
1971. This committee enables the entire
parish community to bring the witness
of the Gospel to bear upon social issues, both

Respect Life Committee
The Respect Life Committee serves the parish community by providing pro-life literature,
promoting pro-life activities and raising funds for pro-life agency. For additional

St. Vincent De Paul Volunteer
St. Bartholomew organized their St. Vincent
de Paul chapter in the mid 1960’s. Since
its inception this active group has helped the
needy in the parish with food, clothing, mortgage
payments, etc. Regular monthly meetings
are held at 8 pm on the first Monday of the
month in the rectory basement. If interested

Tender Mercies Volunteer
On the third Sunday of each month, parishioners
from St. Bart’s prepare and serve a meal at
Tender Mercies, an outreach program in Over-The-Rhine
that provides housing for mentally challenged
adults. They do not have the capability
to prepare food for residents in-house.

Our Daily Bread Volunteer
Parishioners help serve meals and lend a hand in the food pantry at Our Daily Bread, a
Hospitality/Soup Kitchen in Over-The-Rhine. Call Marilyn Wilke at 931-9785 to find

Volunteer
Parishioners share cookies and conversation with residents on a monthly basis. For

Blood Drive
As part of our continuing commitment
to the community, the parish sponsors
an annual blood drive for Hoxworth
Blood Center. Traditionally,
the blood drive is held the last week

People Working Cooperatively
Twice a year, St. Bart’s participates in PWC’s home and yard cleanup for low-income
seniors. Call Bob Heglin at 729-1287 for information on volunteering. |

Hunger Sunday
The first Sunday of each month is Hunger Sunday. Parishioners are invited to bring
non-perishable food items to Mass for donation to Valley Interfaith Food and Clothing
Center. Call Fritz Shadley at 729-0143 for information. |

Mission
Garage Sale
The mission commission sponsors two fundraising garage sales a year (usually March &
October) in support of the mission work of the Archdiocese and several individual
missionaries. If interested in working at these sales contact Nancy Roos at
