Rev Patrick Welsh was appointed pastor of St. Bartholomew Parish in 2009. He was ordained a priest of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in the Roman Catholic Church on May 16, 1998 at the Cathedral of St Peter-In-Chains in Cincinnati by Archbishop Daniel E Pilarczyk.

His first assignment was as an associate pastor for the 1450 families at Our Lady of Victory Parish in Delhi, a suburb on the West side of Cincinnati.

He was then made associate pastor for the 2750 families at Guardian Angels parish in Mount Washington, a suburb on the east side of Cincinnati.

In 2002 Rev Welsh was made pastor for the 600 families of Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in McCartyville.

Born in Middletown in August of 1950 to Mary Dell and Thomas Welsh, both now deceased, Rev Welsh attended Holy Trinity grade school and Bishop Fenwick High School. He has one brother Michael (Barbara).

Answering the call to service and priesthood, Rev Welsh entered studies at Mount Saint Mary’s seminary in the Fall of 1992. His first year was spent studying philosophy at St Thomas More college in Ft. Thomas, Ky.

After four years of study at the seminary in Cincinnati and one year of internship at St Aloysius Gonzaga parish in Bridgetown, a Cincinnati suburb, Rev Welsh was ordained in 1998.
